A Mother's Protection

Please forgive me my little child,
I have not enough strength the protect thee.
That is why I warn you now,
Use up all your strength to flee.

Faster and faster, moves are swift,
Do not turn back around.
Make sure you are not targeted,
Or chased by vicious hounds.

Do not stop until you’re at the river,
There’s a man I once knew well.
He surely will take you to a village,
A new place for you to dwell.

But among the people are bandits,
And criminals with large axes, too.
If you do not get away quickly,
Your life you will surely lose.

You ask me why I would tell you,
To go to such a horrid place.
There isn’t much time to explain.
We need to go in such haste.

So by then, I hope we meet again,
And create a bond anew.
There are many who are kind like us,
And evil among us are few.
