I'm not just typing words
I'm painting a picture with them

I'm letting you into my head

I'm not just vying for attention
I'm trying to tell you my feelings

So when you read my poem
Don't just read it and forget
Read it and know that's how I feel

When you read my poem
Don't just read it and move on
Read it and try to understand

Because when I write a poem
I'm not just being weird
I'm trying to tell you something
