You know what they all say
They say they want to leave
All they desire is to get away
They think a change of scene is relief
But do you know what I think
I’ll think I want to stay
No matter what is on the brink
That I’ll not want to stray
They all talk of walking the world
With their worn out shoes and minds
They want to let their souls unfurl
And find others of their kind
But you know what thoughts are those I adorn
I am content with how it all is
And though my shoes may too be worn
They’ve created a groove here of which I would miss
Yes, they all may want to find
That new world to make an imprint on
They all want to break out of that bind
Their former worlds held onto them for so long
But as for me, I see it different
Happy with the grip that holds me
That need to flee for me is absent
Rooted to this ground is where I’ll be
And so I ask you, my friend
Will you bolt, run and fly
Or will you stay and thus contend
Like the brave soul you are, and I
They say they want to leave

They think a change of scene is relief
But do you know what I think
