Stress

Welling up from my gut,
Slipping into my lungs,
Smothering and stifling my breath,
A dark slime moving through my organs,
Wrapping around my heart,
Thud, Thud, Thu…
It curls up my spine,
To traipse around my mind,
Blocking out reason, rationality, sanity.
I’m gasping, and rolling.
Trying to get away.
