Cribbing

Excellence within,
a saint to say the least.
None in his order, or class,
or kingdom.
All below drown in envy,
pathetic as they mimic
the god in him.

Lesser men befriend him.
Nothing rubs off,
kissing feet forever.
I of all had devil’s thirst;
cut out his inner man,
stepped in
and sat atop the world.
