It's a lot like silk, really.
Or the feeling you get when you leave the bathroom light on.
It's getting left behind, but not forgotten.
Being badmouthed, but respected.

It's jumbled up contradictions,
but in the form of an emotion.
It's lovely, really.
Every once in awhile, it's nice to make sense.
As a person, you know. Make sense.
Many things don't, like contradictions.
Opposing thoughts, like clashing personalities in a room together.
But that can be lovely, too.
They slide out from between your fingers,
And it's lovely, because the fabric feels smooth,
And lovelier still because eventually it will be gone.

Thinking about it, it really can't be all these things.
But it is anyway.
Someday you'll see it.
Someday you'll know.
It's like all of these things,
All of them,
All at once.
But in the form of an emotion.

Perhaps the infinite number of contradictions in this world is what is leading so many to self-destruct or lose motivation- because they can't stand the say-one-thing-do-another.

This is such a spectacular poem. The first line had me just because it's so casual. The whole thing to me is sort of conversational, making it easy to read. I love it when people can describe the indescribable so accurately like this. This poem made my chest feel funny in a good way, like when I read something so awesome like this.
