Desolate Island

No one dares to step foot on the island.
Although it is beautiful,
It is also different.
No one has seen anything like it.

Some brave souls have tried,
But the island whisks them away:
Sending deathly waters,
Throwing them overboard.

The boats that get passed her defenses,
Don't stay long.
They only came for treasure,
But of that the island is void.

Some kind, well-intended sailors,
Have come ashore just long enough,
To show they were not well-intended at all.

So many sailors have passed by,
Without taking a second look,
At the desolate island,
Waiting - searching.

I like the metaphor here. The second to last stanza is definitely my favorite. :) Overall, good work on this one. However, I may have considered a different title. Perhaps something that has a bit less to do with the island, since that is obviously not what you really talking about. ;)
