True love? Or just a misunderstanding?

There was something going on that’s for sure.
She could see it.
The way they looked at each other, every time she looked out of the window.

She didn’t know them.
But she didn’t have to.
It was obvious, the way they felt about each other.

Who were these people?
Well that would be telling.
Just two people who worked together, one girl and one boy.
Complete strangers.
They had no idea she existed but she knew them well.

She saw what they didn't and she saw everything.
A smile, a light touch on the arm, a joke, a glance for too long.

When you've been on your own for so long, you learn how to read people.
People watching is very interesting and you can learn a lot about someone and their relationships with people, by just watching and taking it all in.

The girl liked the boy that was clear.
The long looks she gave him.
The way she smiled when he looked her way.
She’d laugh at his jokes and blush when he touched her arm.

He was harder to read.
He would make jokes and smile.
But no long glances for him.
He cared for her deeply, that much was clear.
But was she more than a close friend?

Was something going on between them?
Only time will tell whether it is ‘love’ or just a misunderstanding.
