When I was Young...
When I was young
my smile never faded.
Happiness came naturally,
no need to be persuaded.
When I was young
I wasn't afraid to trust.
There was no doubt in my mind
that everyone would be just.
When I was young
everything was simplified.
There was no over-thinking
and good times were amplified.
When I was young
I was totally free.
I didn't have a single care
and I was filled with glee.
When I was young
is the key phrase here.
Because as I grow old
all these things disappear.
