Mind and Body

I am just a mind
That runs over words spoken
1,
2,
Long buried in the graves of yesterday.
I laugh over jokes that have been spoken
Or cry over words that I spoke, or you spoke, or things I wish I spoke
And I can return to these things when I want to feel how I did back then
I am just a mind, filled with words and memories that I cannot touch
And I can only hear these words there, or see my memories
In my mind
But my mind is housed in a body
Made up of only flesh and bone
So fragile
So temporary
so breakable
so vulnerable
And I fear that one day, when I return to these words and memories,
My body will have failed me
