Look at yourself
If you are reading these words you are alive
You have been for any amount of seconds
Minutes
And hours
And regardless of whether your heart is light
Like spring winds grazing your cheek
Or heavy like boulders upon your chest
At some point you have had to drag yourself out of your bed
When you wanted to dissolve under the soft linen sheets
Or break out of the monotony of routine
And fly
To a different state
Or country
Or perhaps among the clouds
And think
Dream
Or just exist
But you did pull yourself up
And gather up the torn pieces of your soul
And for that you are a hero
Please do not think otherwise.

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.

Wow. This is amazing and beautiful. It's powerful, descriptive, and honest. It's such a wonderful, honorable, and encouraging poem. Thank you for sharing this.
