You were the scarlet blood
Pumping to keep my heart beating
Yet you are gone
And the veins you once filled are now stale with ice
Chilling my bones as the wind when it breathes on your skin
And I try to bring my heart to life
I turn over
Over
Over
Your memory like pages slicing through the air
But they are crumpled as withered leaves beneath my shoes
And they will not do.

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.

Also, I forgot to say. My favorite lines of your poem were at the end. "Your memory like pages slicing through the air; But they are crumpled as withered leaves beneath my shoes; And they will not do." All in all, your poem is amazing and powerful and jus wow. Thank you again.

I've never had this kind of experience, but I've had a similar experience. You are so talented. Very. Your poem is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.
