Dim and dark
on sunken wings
the melting glow
of tears on skin
and dint of pressure
grasping spare
and turning raw
those gaping eyes
stinging the sight
of what is right in front of us.

The author's comments:
Though this is a poem about crying, I don't see it as a specifically negative way. I wrote this after a difficult time in my life, where the crying was not only about grief, but a sense of renewal and clearing my vision. Thank you for reading.

To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing..

it's pretty....

"Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul; dig deep, for every dream preceeds the goal."

This is a lovely poem. You're so right about crying; I'd never thought of it that way. But it's perfect. So thank you for making lfe a little simpler. I'm a big fan :)

short and sweet, and emotional
