Permit me to tell you about a place called Detroit, a dead battery
Tough, gritty, left for dead
Yet among vacant lots and decaying buildings
Amassed bulldozers and cranes to begin a new
Shiny glass buildings on the riverfront
Art deco towers prominent and proud
Greektown, Mexicantown, theatre and casinos
A city of sport
And cars with its' engine still roaring
A machine filled with determination
To refill its historic name
And go full throttle ahead
