I Got the Joy! MAG

January 21, 2009

I got the joy
to pop the corn
side the walk
swing the set
mock the bird
glow the worm
gas the light

To
break the fast
ice the box
stair the well
school the boys
bubble the gum
french the kiss

To
yellow the fever
treasure the chest
miracle the grow
marry the gold
night the mare

To
jump the jack and back again
I believe
I believe I got it … that joy!

This was great! I loved it and never would have come up with something so clever and joyful. Hope you don't plan on leaving the writing world....you have big talent and huge potential!
I'd love it if anyone would take a look at my work, I'm dying for some new feedback (especially on "Helium Balloons")

"My role in society, or any artist's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all."

Nice job, would you mind checking out my pieces? Thanks if you do!

I loved your imagery and unconventional style. I just thought "yellow the fever" seemed like a weird and negative image in contrast to all the other ones, which are about joy and dominance- it would make more sense if that line was either changed or removed.

I am like a star burst. A juicy contradiction. I'm hard to figure out, but when you get to my center, your suprised! It's not what you thought it would be, huh.

Very cute!

Please comment and rate my new poem "Safe On A Cloud"!! And some of my other poems, because I'm new to TeenInk: "Girl Next Door", "Captured by Reflections" and "Longing For Those Days" !

I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

That would make a great song, if you included a few more verses using a different patterns.

Plus, check out my poem, "True Colors" and leave some feedback.

This is so unique! It inspires a feeling of almost childlike joy, but in a way that people of any age can understand.
