A dream
  I had a dream
  And in my dream
  I saw shining sand,
Burning the color of molten gold,
  The color of shiny greed,
  Or passion, bright and hard.
I saw a beach aflame with memories
  And ravaged by furious waves.
  I dreamt a dream,
And in that dream there were children.
  Hundreds of children
Kneeling and laughing on the fiery sand.
Light glinted off of pearly teeth
And shined on sun darkened skin.
It bounced between the beaten silver star of david
Hung around the small girl's neck
  And glanced off the hamsa
  That the freckled boy rubbed,
  Deep in thought.
The sun shone on crosses and  crescents
  Catching on idols and bangles
The same sun shone on the children who believed in everything
And the ones who believed in nothing
The sun gave light to them all.
  I dreamt a dream,
And in this half asleep state of grace,
I saw a spectrum  of children,
  Separated by religion and race,
  sit together under the moonbeams
and together build a castle out of their fledgling dreams
And maybe god was in that place

I was at the beach one day, and I guess a five year old was having a birthday party, because there were a LOT of kids. But they were really cute, sitting together in the sand and running through the waves. So I thought to myself, I bet there's a poem in this. Amd there was!
