For when I cease to be,
I'll have no ears nor eyes
No mouth nor mind
To hear or to see or to proclaim
My deeds I've done-
The legacy is in the living.

People often talk about wanting to "leave a legacy" - I think that's silly. We won't be here to enjoy our legacies, so the object of life should be to truly live- to enjoy life for the pure joy that is life, without muddling our happiness with thoughts of our legacies.
