Where I'm From MAG
I’m from lemons in a wheelbarrow,
From wind-lashed cheeks.
I am from cactus coolers (yellow and orange that soothe the throat),
I am from the dumpster.
The albino rabbit that lurks,
A crunching sound of gravel and bone.
I am from papayas we picked that morning,
From Cosmo Kramer.
I’m from flying down the road,
From yes.
I’m from sticks and rocks,
From no.
I’m from the bayliner,
From Rupert.
From Good Samaritan, where I learned true
Sorrow and despair.
At the top there is light,
A need to earn trust, a need to impress.

Hey guys check out the poem, Heartbroken by Katelyn H.!!!
Its super awesome:)
Where I'm From
I am from clothespins,
from Clorox and carbon-tetrachloride.
I am from the dirt under the back porch.
(Black, glistening,
it tasted like beets.)
I am from the forsythia bush
the Dutch elm
whose long-gone limbs I remember
as if they were my own.
I'm from fudge and eyeglasses,
from Imogene and Alafair.
I'm from the know-it-alls
and the pass-it-ons, ...
it's a really good way of describing where you're from.

It's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes, and leap!
i didn't really think you had a reason for dividing up the lines like you did, which is something my writing teacher was talking to us about recently. i suggest you edit it and think about how the way you organize your lines can improve the poem. good job!
