His mind is dark and cold as ice
Trapped in a sinful paradise.
With demons that only know of hate,
A lonely world he does await.

A frozen heart, pale face, stale lungs
He speaks no words, he has no tongue.
With this people choose to ignore,
The boy that’s ice-cold from the core.

Love in his heart he does forbid
Because his knife is too rigid.
Stabbing hearts that do not suffice,
Is he human or made of ice?

A pretty face conceals her fire,
An angry passion most do admire.
She is a flare you can not miss,
Speak to her and she will hiss.

Deceptive, cunning, and all too slick,
Her flames destroy the candle wick.
But do not get close to her light
The sparks will fly and you’ll ignite.

Blood red, she always leaves a stain
On broken hearts that she does chain.
When will she ever get away,
From the game she hungers to play.

So when love both comes their way,
Will they run, or will they stay?
Perhaps their love will end in fire,
Or they’ll burn out in frozen desire.

Although no one can truly see,
Fire and ice are meant to be.
Underneath their masks of shame,
Lay two bound people, exactly the same.

What's screws us up the most in life is the picture in our heads of how it's supposed to be;

This poem positively beautiful.
