Mother
So much resides in a word
As memorable as the moment I first saw light
As meaningful as the day you gave me life
Melodious has it flows from my tongue
There is only one
Mother
With love overflowing
Oblivious by your side
I was so obtuse
As you closed her eyes
No last goodbye
I only had one time
Mother
The air has never been so thick
I have never felt so tiny
In a world so vast and big
Every night it just keeps winding
Up
Unaware of your demise
Mother
How can I accept this?
When you left this all behind
My heart was ripped apart
Heading up to heaven
Trailing just behind
Mother
Before you go
I hope you know
You’ll never be forsaken
And never will you leave my heart
Not even for a second
Mother
I hope one day I’ll greet you
And we’ll reflect upon our lives
I was so obtuse
Oblivious
I could not believe this
The moment you died
I never got to say this
But Mom
I love you and goodbye

I wrote this after my mom died. It wasn't until then that i realized how important she was to me. Not only that it's the singularity of a mother that became more prominent. I only had one mother and now she's gone.

Sorry Anne, you've had better moments. :)

I'm so sorry. It must feel horrible.
