Once, there was a turtle who lived near the ocean,
And everything it did was in slow motion.
It had a green shell with many spots,
And it loved to climb along all the rocks.
She was never in a hurry -- nor day, nor night
And enjoyed to bask in the summer sunlight.
It swam in the water and walked on the land,
She laid her eggs right there in the sand.
For several weeks, she watched over the eggs,
Protecting them from all human legs.
Finally, the shells began cracking,
And baby turtles soon started hatching!
