AS I WALK

as i walk this sandy shore
i think that life is such a bore
all lives troubles tear away at me
but i do not flee to thee

instead i turn the other way
and walk i walk far away
seeking pleasures to satisfy
this tired hungry soul of mine

i searched here, i searched there,
but wasn't happy anywhere
but still i tried to go alone
and ended up with a heart of stone

cursing God with all my might
instead He made me take rapid flight
i ran away couldn't escape
God's wonderful glory and grace

now i fall upon my knees
in a helpless plea
Christ please come into my heart
for my life is falling all apart

i threw away my earthly pleasures
and learned how to serve Jesus forever
now i live in eternal care
with my Lord so loving and fair
