Can You Hear My Prayer?

Verse 1: I am sitting here alone
Beating on my drum
Wondering where you are
I’ve been here waiting here with no answers
I wrote so many letters,
But all was thrown out
I hear voices in my mind
Not knowing which one is mine.
I scream out loud
For you to come here by my side
I bar out the world from mine.
I am only wondering where you are.

I know he’s not here, but you are.

I cannot hear any angels sing.
Where are you lord?
For I have a prayer to sing.
But I don’t know where you are

Verse 2: My dreams have ceased,
But my wishes have not.
I wish you, my friend, come back here.
I pray for you
For I don’t know if you have healed
But I surely have not
I cry everyday
Wondering where you are
After you moved
I don’t know where to go
All I know is I am alone

Verse 3: When I pray for him to return
I say this:
“Lord, answer my prayer
Help him heal
Protect him from anything
And let him know I am here
Amen.”
And I hope that the lord hears me.
For if he doesn’t
I don’t know where my path is heading.

I had my friends and family here all along.
I just ignored them for I didn’t know where I belong.
So I accept anything that life throws at me.
I will have pride and honor
I will not cry until death comes upon me.
I hear you answer Lord I finally understand.
I will go on with life knowing who I am
And where I go from here
I know where my path leads I just have to get there.
So hear my final prayer, Lord.
I know where I am going
Yet he’ll always be with me
But you’ll be closer to me, lord
