It begins in the mind, with a thought then a smile
A human expression, as puzzling as any
A rush of emotion as strong as the Nile
A gift of joy from one to many
The cheerful chuckling of a cherubic child
It is music to the ears
None too mild
Preserving the spirit across life’s years
A heart that is hardened forgets how to grin
A mind without wit is like a candle that lacks fire
Empty and hollow, a house made of tin
A facial expression set in ire
Set free your giggles, your cackles, your Ha Ha’s
Laughter is the song of life, fa-la-la-la… fa-la-la-la… fa-la-la-la…
