Book Review Outline
Book title and author: Mary, Bloody Mary By: Carolyn Meyer
Title of review: True Life of Bloody Mary By; Solanna
Number of stars (1 to 5): 4.5
Introduction
All up until I read this book, Bloody Mary was just a figment of our imagination. Supposedly, you could go into a dark bathroom, spin three times saying bloody Mary, and then she was supposed to end up in the mirror. Horrifying right? I never really believed this tale, but I was always to afraid to try it. Little did I know, Mary was a real person with a real life. I’m not a big biography reader, but I was willing to read this mind griping story.
Description and summary of main points
Mary Tudor was her name. She grew up as a princess and because of that she loved the finer things in life. I mean who can blame her? I can see her as the type of person who could afford almost anything she wanted and more. Mary had a happy life, one full of love and riches. But sometimes good things can come to an end, like when her father, King Henry the fifth, had an affair with a gold digger after he was already married. He banished Mary to a horrible place to get her out of his way. Everything was going downhill and to make things worse her father left her mother and married another. His terrible wife was a wretched woman who wanted money and riches. They had a baby and Mary was called back to the palace. Only this time, she was there to serve other than be served. Mary was her half sister’s servant. Will things get any better?
Evaluation
Carolyn Meyer, the author, did a great job of capturing Mary’s life and making it readable. This book did a great job of keeping me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The drama involved kept you wanting to read further and further along. Every chapter was easy to read and understand.
Conclusion
I think that this book is great because not many people know of what actually happened. Mary’s life goes bad pretty fast. From being royal to being a slave Mary had a huge life. This book may change your mind, as it did mine, about “Bloody Mary”.
Your final review
Personally, I believe that everyone should give this book a try. If you are bored and need something to read go pick it up and give it a chance. I guarantee you, you will get caught up in it and want to get it finished to see what happens.
