Book Review Outline
Book title and author: The Serpent’s Shadow by Rick Riordan
Title of review: The Kane Chronicles written by Damean B.
Number of stars (1 to 5): 4.9
Introduction: The book of The Serpent’s Shadow is about two children saving the world. This is the third book of the series. In the first one, they had to save Earth from Apophis. He is an evil Egyptian God. The children’s names are Carter and his sister, Sadie. They eventually stop him from swallowing the sun.
Description and summary of main points: In the beginning they are trying to stop Apophis from getting a book that could trap him in the Duat forever. The Duat is a place between Earth and the Dead. That’s why Carter and Sadie have to sleep in special beds, because if they don’t they can drift into the Duat and they can be stuck there forever. They can also store things there like a locker.
Evaluation: I think this book is excellent. That is, especially if you are a fan of the Percy Jackson series. This book is rated a 4.9. So it must be very excellent or it wouldn’t be rated so high.
Conclusion: So this book is twenty-two chapters long. The two children, Carter and Sadie, have an Egyptian god or goddess in their head. They face many great dangers.
Your final review: This is a very good book. If you have enjoyed the Percy Jackson series than you should like the Kane Chronicles. They are written by the same author, Rick Riordan. They have the same concept, except the Kane Chronicles are Egyptian mythology instead of Greek mythology. I would recommend this to any above a sixth grade reading level who likes action plus mythology.
