The Freshman is about a teenager that goes off to college. During his first few months at school and away from home he will encounter many hurdles. Through those difficulties he will find a whole new him he didn’t know was there.
Throughout the book Rick struggles find out who he really is. He meets his roommate his first day of college. His roommates name was Bert. Bert was a ladies man and was just going to college for the parties. Bert’s girlfriend introduced her roommate Kandi. There Rick is faced to keep his faith or go down the wrong path. He develops a strong relationship and a little bit of a crush on Kandi. He starts to have a strong and intense conversation with in college professor, and there he finds that he is digging a bigger and bigger hole for himself.
I loved this book and I would recommend it to anyone. I think this book really teaches you to not judge a book by its cover. My score on it would be 4 out of 5. In some ways it was all the above with genres. For example, it was romantic, thrilling, and teaches you a lesson. That’s why I think anyone would like this book.
