The Boston Tea Party; Tea Dumped Into the Boston Harbor
British parliament decided to pass the Tea Act. The raise on taxes for tea. They did this so the East India Company wouldn't go bankrupt. Since all tea was directly shipped to England, they took advantage of that. Three ships of tea arrived they demanded that the governor take it back but he refused. The colonists were so mad, a Patriot by the name of Samuel Adams came up with this idea of the Boston Tea Party. They dressed as Mohawks. Even though their outfits weren't quite that convincing they got on the ship and dumped 18,000 pounds worth of tea (about 1,000,000) dollars in today's money. The British parliament was so mad about the destruction of their property they created the Coercive Act also known as Intolerable Act. This was so that the criminal prosecution of America wouldn't apply to British officials. sw

I personally think that the British deserved to lose all that money they lost. Nobody wants to more for something that should be less.
