Red lights flashed everywhere, with an aching alarm pounding into my head. People then started running out of their homes in a panic towards the safe house in the middle of the city soldiers started running towards the walls ready to fight while families ran the other direction not daring to even consider risking their lives. But then before I knew it, I was shoved into a puddle of mud by a hoard of people. It was near impossible to stand up or get away the only thing I could do was lay there and wait for my life to end once the monsters came for me. Absolutely no one was going to save me, and no one cared I wasn’t their child I wasn’t their husband, or wife I didn’t share blood with them I was a stranger's child that had no impotence to them. I slowly excepted my fait slowly laying down farther in the mud I was partly hoping the crowd would kill me before the monsters could a death to a monster would be a lot more painful and gruesome. I then closed my eyes blocking out the pain of the civilians running over me my hair tangled in mud along with my night gown fully prepared for my body to be devoured by monsters with no trace or a way of knowing I was really dead. I didn’t want to make my family worry if I made it out alive, but I didn’t have a choice I couldn’t get free no one even thought to help me even just a little bit. But then I heard someone screaming my name threw the crowd
“KATELYN, KATELY!?!”
“OVER HERE” I shouted
Then just like a superhero Ricky ran by and scooped me up
“WHERE WERE YOU RICKY?”
“I can say the same for you too but right now are main priority is getting out”
“WAIT you mean outside the walls?!?”
“What else?”
“WHY ARE WE GOING OUTSIDE THE WALLS?!?”
“It’s safer all the monsters are focused on the city right now”
He then moved me from holding me with one arm to carrying me frontwards barring my head into his shoulders
“DON’T YOU DARE LOOK BACK THERE” he yelled to me
I was to scared to look anyways even tho I was intrigued to see what they looked like at the same time. I held on tight and did what he asked I remembered hearing screaming, followed by explosions from military launchers it was just like the story’s. We where almost near an opening when a solider suddenly stopped us
“Where do you think you're going kid?”
“MOVE OUT OF THE WAY” my brother screamed
The solider then took out his gun pointing a Ricky’s head “you're not legally allowed to go outside of the walls young man”
“SO WHERE SUPPOSED TO DIE?”
“No you won’t die where handling the situation right now go to the center of town”
“DOUBT THAT NOW LET US THREW”
“I can’t let that happen please don’t make me shoot you”
“NO DON’T MAKE HURT YOU”
“Sir the safest place for you is inside the walls”
“Not anymore it isn’t”
Ricky then kicked the solider across his legs disarming him
“HEY WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING KID”
Ricky then grabbed the gun, and we took off into the forest
“WAIT RICKY WHAT ABOUT MOM?!”
“I’ll go back for her when your safe”
He then proceeded to set me down inside a river bed
“Stay here, don’t move, don’t look at anything, and don’t trust anyone”
I then nodded my head and he ran off back to the city.
 
I was amazed I’ve never seen anything like this I mean I’ve learnt about them in school, but I’ve never seen it in real life I didn’t know why they didn’t have trees in the city they were so pretty! I really wanted to explore but I didn’t want to disobey Ricky, so I laid down on the forest floor and looked up at the stars sky with leaves from the top of trees glided down on me. It was a wonderful new experience and was a lot better than using a textbook to see it.

Soon the sun rose up but no sign of Ricky the forest was nice and all, but I was starting to get worried. I then got up and walked back to the city I was sure he’d understand. He honed didn’t take me too far out which also ment I was vulnerable especially in the daylight and I had no weapons to defend myself but if I stayed it would be indefinite. The trail was very pretty now the sun was on it I could see the concrete of what use to be a road before nature did it’sthing. I wondered if I’ve ever been down this road before as a baby. I had no idea what a normal life was, but it wasn’t nearly as bad for me as it was for the kids that were born after a lot of them were raised to be aggressive or to defend themselves even tho we were close in age it was really hard to relate to them it was like we were two different breeds of human. The males are raised to be soldiers, while the females where raised to be workers and produce more children for the repopulation program which I would soon be a part of when I reached the age of fifteen all women were required to take it if they were of child barring age so it was common to have at least five other siblings but for me my mother wasn’t in the age range when they came up with it so she was excused along with women older than her. In the city once a female turned fifteen, she was considered a woman and were placed in the repopulation program until they turn thirty-five the record broken for number of kids born in the program to one mother was twelve. There are options for the mothers tho if they didn’t even want children in the first place it either keep which ones you want or leave with all of them. The girls in that program stay in a maternity hospital built almost right after but I still had two years before I would be taken there to have children of my own. I then continued down the path seeing if I could find the city trying to focus on how to get there, I was just really hoping that I didn’t arrive at the city as Ricky came back for me. I then got a cold sudden chill it felt like a presence of someone or maybe it was a monster I then quickly turned around and all I saw where bushes rustling, I felt more comfortable but a bush moveing also ment someone or something was in it. I moved closer to it praying it was just a squirrel or a wild rabbit
“Hello…?” I called out
No answer I then moved even closer and laid my hands on the bush “please be an animal I thought”
then I opened up the bush by throwing the leaves and twigs off then peering into it. And what I feared for the worst stared right back at me. I then screamed and fell backwards onto the torn road as it rose to its feet
“GET AWAY” I yelled
I then picked up some rocks from the crumbled pavement and threw them at it, but it just phased threw but it just stood there looking at me like a was pathetic with its beady red eyes stareing back at mine. I’ve never seen a monster like it or even heard about a monster that would look like this. I was tariffed like it was just standing there was it planing something? Or was it peaceful? Then out of nowhere it moved close. I then scooted back ripping my nightgown on a twig. Then it came to me this thing was probably a demon it made sense because demons don’t ever have an official form, I might be the only person alive to see a demon's real form, but I thought demons attacked people what was it doing stareing at me?
“H-hi..?” I said
No response. Then out of nowhere a recorded voice started counting down 10, 9, 8… I knew it wasn’t coming from the demon as for his mouth stayed the same absolutely stone cold. I then got up and ran away from while the voice echoed 5, 4, 3, 2… then before I could process my head was smashed against the torn concrete and the demon had hold of me, I tried kicking it, but my legs phased threw its body? I knew it was about to eat me I could feel it the demon was fully prepared to feast upon my organs tears then rolled down my face I really should never have left the river bed and now I was going to pay for that by being eaten alive by this stupid good for nothing demon but for some reason it didn’t take a single nibble out of me it just held me face down straight into the concrete. I was tribally confused I really should have been dead already but instead it lifted me up on my feet my hair and I could only worry about my fait being eaten alive already sounds painful enough, but I was scared if it wanted to play with me and watch me suffer first until an even bigger demon appeared out of the woods. I was then shoved over to the bigger one and fell over onto my knees
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?!” I shouted now closer to tears
The demons then looked down at me with their black voids for faces that then morphed into the faces of my mother and Ricky
“Come with us darling” It spoke
But I didn’t say anything I was just simply to shocked I knew that demons could take the forms of other people but not if they haven’t eaten them?! Which ment my family was completely gone… I then burst into tears as they turned back to their original form
“GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME” I cried pushing away from in between them
But then I heard a “CRACK” then silence as my eyes slowly fell closed

When I woke up, I was in the back of what seemed to be an old run-down Victorian buggy
“Get up” I heard a voice say
I then quickly fluttered my eyes all the way open to see a pale women stood in front of me
“Don’t move we have you shackled”
I then looked at my hands chained to the buggy
“W—what do you want?” I wimped “you have the appearance of a human, but I know you're not even close to the human race even by a smidgin.”
“You’re a smart girl” she laughed “it’s been a while sense I met someone like you humans usually just assume they where saved by soldiers but in reality it’s the complete opposite”
As the demon decided to laugh it’s self silly I remembered everything that happened on the open road
“WAIT” I shouted
The demon then slowly looked around to look at me
“WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY FAMILY?”
The demon then paused and kneeled down to my level
“I guess we’ll find out won’t we?”
It then grabbed my head aggressively and shook it back and forth. It infuriated me but I couldn’t move I was completely bound to the buggy by chains, so I bit its hand instead.
“Ouch what a vicious human” it spoke “dear brother didn’t you see that”
The suddenly a second demon looked back at me from the front of the buggy
“Aren’t you supposed to be burning?” I said
“Don’t believe obvious myths kid” the second demon said going back to steering the buggy.
For the rest of the trip I stayed silently agitated as they braked commands at me it wasn’t the best experience I’ve ever had at least they weren’t killing me well at least not yet. No one ever knew anything about the demons or how they worked a very few people have ever gotten close and survived demons where know to be able to change forms of ranging from there original form, humanoid form, and basically turning into anybody they’ve eaten. There original form was the most terrifying and I got to experience it demons came in various sizes in there original form the tallest they could get or the tallest ever spotted was at least 10 or more feet tall. But they all shared the same height in there humanoid form female demons where 5.5 feet while males where 6 feet exactly. Demons are known for being the monster kingdoms most ruthless species they where notoriously strong and had the most abilities even tho they where eerily similar to shadow people they still towered over the rest. People have tried killing and developing new ways to exterminate demons but only 3 men in history have ever had the strength to be able to kill one and keep its head has trophies passing it down threw generations. I personally found it disgusting but it was a high Horner to own one but of course those heads are no longer preserved has for they where claimed over 1,000 years ago when humans lived in constant fear of there lives always running and building new villages one after another it didn’t end until they built the first version of the walls which now days was destroyed a long time ago by another attack 200 years ago then came the walls I was born I which ended up being attacked 11 years ago then present day. Ever time the walls where attack more frequently it was honestly tariffing to think about. But here I was a captive of two demons having no idea where they were taking me i tribally wanted to escape but the female demon wouldn’t keep her eyes off me. And even if I made a run for it I’d be dead in only a matter of a few seconds so it wouldn’t we worth it I wanted to get out in on pice so my only choice was to cooperate with them even tho it pained me to obey any type of monster. But it was the only choice I had I couldn’t move I couldn’t  talk, it felt like I couldn’t even blink around them I was tariffed but I didn’t want to show my weakness to a demon especially these demons they seemed to have high intelligence for a monster which makes sense.
 
Soon enough we arrived the cart was taken threw a iron gate then parked near what looked like a castle. The female demon then removed my shackles from the cart and blindfolded me but I stayed silent I didn’t even want to know what would happen if I tried talking back. So I relaxed my face trying to look expressionless but most importantly trying not to get killed.
 
I was then handed over to what felt like another two demons who then escorted me in what felt like a cold brick building and proceeded to sit me down on the floor.
“You may leave” a voice spoke
Then the presences of the other two demons where gone. But then what felt like 100 demons surrounding me
“I bet your aching to speak aren’t you?” The voice spoke “I bet your wondering where you are correct?”
I nodded my head has they removed the blindfold
“You may speak now”
I then looked up to see where I was only to see what was most obvious a demon. But this demon was more formal and gave off a very powerful aurora then expected
“Any questions?” It asked
“Yes, in a matter of fact I do”
“What May those be?” The demon asked sitting on top of a throne
“First of all what did you do to my family?”
“Oh that? No idea hun I just gave permission to my little demons to eat anyone inside the walls so the best closure I can give is that one of my followers ate them”
“NO, you do know I know it I don’t know how but you know”
“I sincerely don’t child”
I then started to cry
“NO YOU HAVE TO KNOW?!”
She then got up from her seat angrily
“TAKE HER AWAY” she shouted
“WAIT YOU CAN'T DO THAT!?”
She then glared at me has two demons dressed in hoods dragged me away
“LET GO?!” I shouted
But they didn’t answer they just kept a tight grip on both my arms dragging me along the ground. I was deeply tariffed that they where about to kill me but they instead brought me inside an isolated white room
“Put this on” it said throwing what looked like a white dress with a name tag
“Why should I?”
The demon then started transforming
“OKAY I WILL”
The demon then nodded and left me to change
I was both a mixture of anger and anxiety I had absolutely no idea what they were about to do to me or what they were going to use me for. All I could do was wait and see hoping it wasn’t going to be gruesome. I’ve always wanted to research them but not like this now I knew why humans weren’t allowed outside anymore now I knew the dangers now all that’s left is to just watch what they will do.
