The White Series, #3: Racing Tanks
Racing the tanks. Flying down the field, all heading the same direction. The large metal bodies all around them, closing in, slowly constricting the space. The rider smiled. “Let’s show them just how special we are,” he shouted over the roaring noise around them. “Let’s show them what real speed is. Huts!”
The horse half reared into a jump, applying more speed, and reaching speeds other horses would only dream of having. They pulled away from the tanks, kicking up dust, and charging straight for the trenches. Regularly when this White beast appears, it and the rider stop, pick a very specific path over the trenches, stop again and then finish taking the message to the receiver. This time the White didn’t stop. This time the White sped up.
