Voices of LBHS
At the beginning of each school year I get a new pair of shoes and I won’t get another pair till the middle of the school year. People talk about how I wear the same shoes almost everyday because they have the money to get new shoes almost every month while I am lucky to at least get two new pair of shoes each year. It makes me happy when my step mom can take me and my brother to go get new shoes but it makes me feel guilty because she spends the money on us and never gets to get stuff for herself so I am appreciative for what I get. So I may not have nice new shoes, my shoes may not always be clean but I appreciate all the things that I get. So for all those people who have something to say about my shoes to me they weren’t just bought with money they were bought with love and compassion, I don’t care about the new shoes you wear and i’m not “hating” on you, I Just feel my shoes are worth more to me than money.
