Valeria had been an orphan for as long as she could remember. She had never had parents; she was abandoned at an orphanage and was raised there until they kicked her out when she was 18. She made a life for herself but she always had this empty feeling inside. She was currently on the side of a street trying various times to hail a cab. She felt a small tug on her blouse, so she looked down to see what caused it. There was a little girl, no older than 6, holding Valeria’s shirt tightly. The little girl looked familiar but she didn’t know where from. She then asked the little girl, ”Is something wrong?” “My mom, I can’t find her. Can you please help me?” the girl said in a small voice, no louder than a whisper. Valeria looked at the girl in pity and answered, ”Of course, what’s your name?” The girl mumbled something about not being sure. Valeria looked at the girl in confusion but decided to let it go. She asked the girl where she had last seen her mother and the child said she had been at school. Valeria questioned where she went to school but the little girl just grabbed her hand and started walking. Once they had stopped in front of a building, Valeria saw that the girl had led her to her old elementary school. She looked around and realized it was too late for anyone to be at the school. She turned towards the girl and asked, ”Do you know your address?” The little girl shook her head frantically. This was going nowhere. It was starting to get late in the afternoon. The little girl took Valeria’s hand in hers and started walking again. “Where are you taking me?” Valeria questioned but the girl just kept walking. After about a 5 minute walk, Valeria saw a park. It was the park she had gone to frequently as a child. She had broken her first bone in this park and met her first best friend that same day too. She had loved the park as a kid. Valeria looked towards the child ready to start questioning her but the child wasted no time in grabbing Valeria’s hand once again and leading her away. She recognized the path they were taking. They were headed for the orphanage not far from the park. When they stopped at the building, Valeria looked towards the child exhausted and wanting to go home. “I think we should go to the police station. They will do a better job of looking for your mother,” Valeria tried to tell the child in desperation. She checked her phone to see it was nine thirty pm. “We have one more place to go,” The little girl said as she grabbed her hand and led Valeria away. They were approaching a cemetery and Valeria was starting to get worried. She thought they would stop infront of the gates but little girl kept walking until she stopped in front of 3 old tombstones. They looked old and worn down as if they had been there a while. She looked down and the names on them were Matthew, Angelica, and Valeria Black. She looked up, shocked and saw the little girl with a woman and Man. The little girl was holding her hand out towards her and Valeria took it.
