August 2022 Fiction Contest: Monsters On My Bed
My biggest fear is the fear of monsters. I am afraid that as I am sound asleep, a monster will yank my feet into the darkness. One night, I heard footsteps of tiny feet running into my room. The small-footed person leaps onto the bed. My bed. I wait furiously. Will the small-foot move? I wait until what feels like decades. I stop waiting when I hear high-pitched, delicate snores. I am enraged. How dare the small-foot sleep soundly on my bed?! From underneath, I reach my hands onto the bed and yank the little feet with me into the darkness.
