He cursed under his breath as he began retrieving the textbooks that had fallen in the mud, calculating the cost of the damages and the cost of those d***ed kids’ medical bills if he ever came across them again.
A pale hand shot out from nowhere and handed one of the books to him. Startled, his eyes trailed the cashmere clad arm until he found a smiling girl with auburn hair that fell to her elbows in soft waves and grey eyes as striking as the clouds that hung over them.
“Here,”
He gingerly took the book from her hand, and she laughed as she began helping him pick up the others, and he thought, maybe the world wasn’t so bad after all.
