the ghost in her room
The Ghost in her room:
It was like any other summer afternoon, or so she thought. Once ago there was this young, introverted 12-year-old girl. Her name was Samantha. Samantha had just got back to her room from dinner and wanted to continue the arts and crafts she was working on beforehand. She noticed that some of the specific glitter markers she was using earlier were lying on the floor when she remembered placing them on her work desk. Samantha just ignored it and didn’t think anything of it at the moment. She picks up the glitter markers and continues working on her craft. Once again, Samantha needed something else which was her scissors. Since Samantha was focused on her craft, she kept working and just reached where she thought her scissors were but I’m sure you know what happened. They weren’t there! This is when Samantha starts getting more confused and more aware of her surroundings. She stopped for a minute to backtrack her steps.” I swear I just had my scissors….” she was thinking in her mind. As she got up to look for the scissors Samantha witnessed something she’s never seen before in her lifetime. She sees a picture frame of her and her childhood dog tilt flat off the dresser shattering all over the tile floor. This is when Samantha starts going into freakout mode mentally even though she tried keeping her cool on the outside. Scared Samantha walked to the picture frame with every emotion you could think of. She started observing the fame to see what might’ve caused the fall, but she discovered nothing but a now broken frame. Samantha started to get more aware of her surroundings and started having creepy thoughts. “There’s no way! There can’t be no ghost in my NEW room.” Samantha said shaking. She already had a history of ghosts at her old family house and didn’t want to go through it again. While sitting there panicking from the inside, Samantha sees there’s a written note on the dresser. She examines it and notices that it is cut into a unique shape with glittery words. This letter had Samantha as confused as ever until she started putting two and two together. “So first my glitter markers disappeared, then my scissors, and of course my luck would be me finding a written note in MY room that wasn’t written by ME using those objects.” Samantha’s emotions started changing from frightened to more intrigued by the whole situation. Mind you, she’s been through ghost moments in her life, but it has never gone this deep with her getting a letter. Once she realized the note was from the ghost of course she wanted to talk to it. She wrote a little message back and waited. While waiting she got bored and noticed that if she paid attention to the situation the ghost wouldn’t write back, so she went back to her craft. Later, she realizes the ghost wrote her back. She gets the written note and reads it. “Hello, I’m Sophie! I’m sorry I wasn’t trying to frighten you I was just looking for a new friend my age. Fun fact, This was my old room before it was your new one hahaha.” When Samantha read the ghost Sophie's note she was too stunned to speak for a couple of minutes. She thought she was dreaming because what were the odds Samantha got a note from a ghost girl her age. Interested Samantha started writing her back. “Tell me your story Sophie, I would love to get to know more about you because you know this a once in a lifetime moment lol.” The more they texted, the more intrigued and interested Samantha got in learning about Sophie’s past life going into her ghost world. It was now time for Samantha’s bedtime. They had been communicating through these written notes for the past 3 hours even though it felt like no time had passed. Samantha didn’t want to go to sleep. She didn’t even get to finish the craft she was working on because of her getting sidetracked by her new ghost friend. That night Samantha learned a lot of new things whether it was the smallest things to the deepest things you could tell someone. It showed how close the two girls got in the short period. They did eventually go to sleep and when the next morning came around, they went back to communicating throughout the whole day. I think it's safe to say the two girls, Samantha and Sophie learned a lot about each other. It also taught them to never judge a book by its cover. Imagine if Samantha had been too scared to even respond to the ghost before she knew about Sophie. Imagine if Sophie didn’t dare to reach out to Samantha. Thankfully they were both brave and became best friends despite their situation.
