Autumn Change
With a gust of wind, all the leaves fell to the ground. The multi-colored autumn leaves on the ground laid still and decorated the plain concrete floor as they began to decompose. The people began to wear their sweaters and go shopping for their winter clothing. The squirrels began to gather all their acorns for the long, cold winter that would come soon. The schoolchildren jumped in the leaves during recess, enjoying the sound of the crunch under their feet. It was that day, that brought a new feeling that sent darkness throughout the town. A feeling of change that the people had never experienced before. It brought a cold chill throughout the people’s bodies. The change was so terrible, people no longer enjoyed their lives and it became a very dark time. But in the end, it was all just a tale.

In this piece I wrote a set piece that was focused on mood. One thing that I liked about this piece was the description of how life was before the big change and how it shows the contrast. I also like how the change was never told leaving it to the readers to create.
