Into the Woods
The woods. White oaks and willows, birds and butterflies. I wander on the narrow path hidden inside the trees. Smell of trunks and grasses, refreshing. The path leads to a small clear pond. The huge umbrella of branches and leaves is on top. Sunshine tries to make its way down. It finally drips onto the pond. The pond is like a mirror. Little drops of sunshine are broken into pieces of gold foil. I walk to the shore of the pond. Fallen tree branches lie on the edge of water. There is no sound. My world is in peace and quietness. Ears are unused to the disappearance of noise. It makes me want to stay longer. I find a rock and sit. The tranquility of nature is exciting. Wind blows. Water grins. I put up the tent. Hours pass. Stars refill the sky. I get into the tent. The whole calm and freedom belong to me.

I am a high school student from California. I enjoy writing in my free time and this is a realistic fiction piece that I composed, in which I tried to use the minimalist writing style. The small paragraph describes "my" experience in the woods and interactions with the nature. Hope you like it!
