"Giving up is not a part of my vocabulary."
"Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game."
"Truth be told I miss ya, truth be told I'm lying."

I sit here now, waiting for my answer.
I have so many questions for you. They bottle in my mind and mess up my expressions;
Why are you here?
I can spot you standing over there, and yet you're so near.
I can't understand;
Why did you pick me?
That beautiful blonde stands before you, twisting a perfect bleach-colored curl around her hot-pink-tinted nailed finger.
You smile at her, but it's nowhere close to genuine.
It doesn't reach your semisweet eyes.
I remain sitting there, staring, too lost in my abstraction that I don't even realize you looking back.
When I do, I shyly turn and start running a small twig through the soft dirt.
I hear footsteps coming toward me,seeming right above my head now.
"Hey," you say in your deep scruffy voice.
"Hey," I reply, not indulging in my deep want to glance up at you.
"Tori wanted me to ask you if you wanted to come to the movies with us tonight."
Everything I'd just been fantasizing about seemed to crush me from all sides.
I had to sit upright to be able to breathe.
Of course it wasn't me he liked. Tori watched enviously.
I finally met his dark gaze.
I laughed nervously.
"Why in all this world are you taking the time to ask me this?" I snapped.
Couldn't people just leave you alone? Does it always have to be the crowding effect?
He looked mixed. Offended and slightly amused.
"Cause it's a good movie and I think you'll like it," he says, holding my eyes.
I turn away anyway. Unthinkingly, I glance back at Tori's expression. That ought to lighten my mood.
I couldn't have been more right.
She looked completely impatient, glaring back at me, slightly squinting her dark jade green eyes.
"Okay. Different approach," he began. "Please come with me-us."
I jumped a bit, little surprised at my interruption.
He grinned in reaction.
I looked directly in his soulful eyes, trying to find the catch.
No luck.
I glanced back at Tori.
This could be fun.
He put his arm around me suddenly.
"Okay. Fine."

I enjoyed your story. To me this felt like you were writing from a personal experience (or maybe a fantasy), but whatever your inspiration, you created a vivid flash-character we can all relate to.
P.S. I would love if you read my article, http ://www.teenink .com /fiction/all/article/156990/Unanswered-Good-mornings/

I like this, it's really interesting and leaves a little bit to mystery, you know? I like stories like that. Did this really happen or was it one of those random spurts of writing? Or a little of both?? :)
