Princess
I look at your pictures of you and her, it reminds me that we’re done, my hope is gone, you’re gone. Tears flow as I see your eyes on her, the same way you looked at me. I wish you were here to wipe away my tears, just like you used to. Sometimes I think, on the rainiest days, that you’ll come running down my street, your favorite jeans, and all, you’ll come running, through the rain, just to see me. Hold me close, hold me as I cry. It’ll be just like nothing has changed. You’ll look the same, nothing would be different. You’ll still be wearing your favorite live strong bracelet, your eyes will still be an amazing blue, your eyes, will be on mine. Sometimes I wish that we’ll have the fairy tale ending. That I’ll be the princesses, and you’ll be the prince, and we’ll ride off in the distance, everything would be perfect. Brilliant. But I have to move on.
I’m not your princess.
