The girl
There once was a girl who loved to ride horses. She lived and breathed horseback riding. Ever since she was a baby she has been exposed to the southern farm life, living in Alabama, riding horses came natural. She was woken up one morning from the shining sun coming in through her window. Behind her room, looking out the window is the luscious green meadow and the burnt red colored barn. The barn is as old as her great grandpa. Being a champion horse rider, he was an inspiration to her. Every morning she would wake up and clean her horses stall, rain or shine. Then take her horse for a morning ride. The girl wakes up one morning, it’s bright and sunny. Perfect weather. She pulls on her blue faded jeans and slips on her boots. On her way out the door she grabs her hat off the hook and runs outside. In the barn she sees her horse. The horse is as dark as the color of her brown boots. His name was Midnight. She pulls herself onto the chestnut colored saddle and gets herself ready for a ride. Midnight gallops into the meadow and a smile come across the girl’s face. It’s as though all the stress and worries just fell off her shoulders. She had been so busy lately she had forgotten what this feeling had felt like. Waking up early to work on the farm before school, then going to school, and coming home to do more cleaning around the stables. The wind blowing through Midnight's hair and the sound of the horseshoes in the dirt brought back memories of when she was younger horseback riding. Having a horse just brought her comfort as if having someone she could talk to or take a break with. When she rides Midnight, she feels on top of the world and like she has no responsibilities. Gliding through the air on her horse's back, the world just seemed to hit pause and be happy.
