The Smell of Hope
If you jump into the present, you’ll land hard on the confusion of what's next. You’ll smash into the hard rock and the pain will fill your head with the birds song telling you to stop. You’ll run for the hills, but the pain from exhaustions smells like a fire ablaze. A sickening smell that wants you to cease and accept your fate. You fight through, sick with senses. As the end is in sight, you feel fear, and a sickening green appears. The enemy of green hides between a lion's roar and a cat's whimper. As the green vanishes from sight, tears begin to fall. The shape of the past fits inside a salty tear drop against your lips. Finally you reach the end as a breeze caresses your face. You toss your sadness to the wind, it returns as a warm glimmer of hope. The sweet strawberry scent of hope.
