“The statement you have given us before just proved that you committed the murder but now you are going against what you said.” said Dom Johnson confronting Xavier Louis
Xavier argues back saying “ Not at any point i said or given a hint that i killed the man all i said is was yes that the gun used was mine and and loaded at the night of the killing”
Well at this point you can see that there is a huge problem going on between these two men. Let’s go back to the beginning and see what is said to had happened.
Around 10:00 am on a Thursday morning in the fall the courtroom felt cold and heavy presence was there, as the courtroom is filled with many people, few of them being men of the jury and 2 police men. Immediately they bring in the suspect of it all Xavier Louis almost as if to be a little comfortable in the handcuffs, the men and women quietly speak and began pointing fingers at him and he is walking to his table being seated. Across from him is the man working against him, Dom Johnson a lawyer looking well organized and a warmth strong presence. A side from it all one of the policeman speaks to all the court “All Rise!” .
The Judge walks into his seat and says “You may all be seated.” taking the folder from his table opening it and reading allowed the case. “Xavier Johnson 37 convicted of murder and stealing of a wealthy man from Wall Street one of its highest paid stock brokers.” Putting the folder down immediately after a scream from the audience the wife of the stock broker yells and in tears saying Xavier is guilty and should be put in jail for life. Soon calmed down by her son and other the Judge appoints and looks to Dom Johnson and asking for the opening statement of the case.
Dom Johnson opens up and says “ Your Honor the family and I have spoken and we find that Xavier Louis is to be the killer of the deceased and have gathered everything for today.” he is seated, the judge thanks him and now asks for the statement of the representative of Xavier Johnson. Mr. Xaviers lawyer continues by saying “My client and I have spoken and we found no need to have to drag this on and all, but he finds himself not guilty…. “ Interrupted quickly by Dom not being able to finish the statement he says “Your honor that is a lie if he wasn't guilty we would not be here in the first place.” Xaviers lawyer does not continue his statement as what he says is true; the judge confronts Dom and reassures him to let all opening statements be heard. The court goes silent.
A few moments to an hour went by discussing and showing video tapes of the man committing the murder and having witnesses of both ends but each story was the same. Eventually Dom Johnson noticed it was just going in circles and he stands and says “I’d like to call Xavier Louis to the stand for questioning.” although Xavier has already been question but not directly the judge allows it and asks for Xavier to step to the stand. That man casually getting up his lawyer grabs his arm and only tells him to deny everything. Xavier steps to the stand and is seated. Dom approaches the stand staring down Xavier as he gets comfortable. Dom then looks to the court room and begins by summing up everything that was noted throughout the day, how the witnesses all said no that Xavier did not commit the murder and that of the evidence shown there that day was all false evidence. He then looks back at Xavier and asks what are his thoughts upon having evidence that is “false”.
Xavier says “Must've been a good time to do a dirty job.” he says with no emotion at all.
“So you are saying that you have done the “dirty job” yourself.” says Dom walking towards the stand.
“Not at any point did I say I did it but I did say that at that time of the occurrence, it was perfect to have done something like that in my opinion.” being able to tell the tone in Xavier’s voice change.
Dom begins to get frustrated and says ““The statement you have given us before just proved that you committed the murder but now you are going against what you said.”
-Xavier laughs, Dom continues and points out his shoes, how they are full of black dots, as if they were to be washed off maybe because of blood and how his shoes fit the shoes in a video surveillance tape shown earlier. Xavier laughs again and says “Maybe it was just a coincidence.” Dom then looks towards the jury and says “Take note those shoes have not been sold in stores in the past 12 years so how could it be a coincidence.” nothing else said you can see a few of the jury begin to speak.
Dom looks towards the judge and continues to say no more questions. The judge continues by saying “ We will take a break and have the jury come to their decision.”
The Jury exists the courtroom. It is silent and still in the courtroom, minutes goes by jury begins to walk in and be seated the judge then asks what is your verdict. Jury number one stands and says “The case of Xavier Louis vs Dom Johnson and the deceased family we find Xavier Louis to be…” a small pause is taken and continued by saying “not guilty”. The courtroom jumps in awe saying that is a lie they all new deep down he was the man. The judge silents the court and takes control of the room and says “ The Case of Xavier Louis vs Dom Johnson is concluded all evidence and statements are to be saved in files. Please let Mr. Louis go.” The court is still as they watch him exit with no expression, the same way he entered and not ever seen by that family or any of the court again.
Months later on the news being watched by Dom they say a stockbroker was shot and is facing critical conditions in the hospital and an image of Xavier is shown but under a different name but also known as The Stockman killer. Dom is just in awe staring at the tv then angered knowing there was something suspicious about the man.
