When you think about a romance book you probably think about love and things that relate to love etc, but this book is one that not only includes love, but it also includes how immigrant people struggle not to be a citizen and how it can affect their kids sometimes. The author, Nicola, is a successful writer who has won Talent Awards. Her novels have become major motion pictures. She is a Jamaican author who grew up in Jamaica and Brooklyn and is currently living in LA with her family. This book was full of intensity and different types of actions in different types of places. Something I loved about this book and enjoyed reading was that it was based on two wonderful perspectives from which the main characters were.

The genre Nicola normally focuses on is young adults, but this novel was a romance one. As I was reading the book, I noticed how it had my feelings everywhere but was leaning more towards very exciting and made me get butterflies in my stomach. The feelings you feel when reading this book are much more than just relating to it. It’s more like you know how they feel because you’ve gone through something similar. When you start reading the book there’s not much action and saying, but it does give a little background story about the two main characters, Natasha and Daniel. Natasha at first explains how love isn’t something you can believe in, it's more like a scientific thing and there has to be chemistry between yourself and the person you think is right for you. The Sun Is Also A Star' by Nicola Yoon includes lots of intensity and action and is recommended for teenagers who go through the same problems as Natasha, such as dealing with parental relationships, expectations and, lastly, developing a lover.

This book will be put forward by most high school students who have immigrant parents and have expectations when going out. There was this one scene that caught my attention, and it was when they  mentioned that all of their situations were happening in one day, from every morning to every night. One of the scenes I liked is how they met under some unfortunate circumstances and still somehow clicked really quickly while getting to know each other.  Towards the end, it explained how the two main characters ended up with their relationship and how they made it work with their complete differences. It made me think how sometimes things happen for a reason and some things work out if they are meant to be.
