Someday
He loved her. It was plain and simple. Everyone knew it. Everyone but her. They had always been best friends since they played in the sandbox together in their backyards. Even through college their long-distance friendship endured. Letters, e-mails, phone calls. He loved the way she sounded on the phone. The way her hand-writing was a bit slanted and messy. He loved her laugh and her smile. The way she was the sun that cleared the clouds on a rainy day. Her jokes and the way she would always say the right thing. But no matter how many times he tried, he couldn’t tell her how he felt. He knew she was too good for him. Too pretty, too smart, too good for him. Someday, he would tell her. Maybe, they would be together forever. Someday.
