Letters to Luke: Letter Three
Dear Luke,
You showed up at my front door today. It's june. You just got out of school, and your first trip was to see me. You drove 800 miles at age 17 to see a girl you haven't seen for over two years.
We spent the day in Central Park, and it was perfect. For the first time, I told you I love you. You said it back without an instant of hesitation. You meant it. I knew it. And when you kissed me, I knew things would work out between us. Even though you're 800 miles away. In a year you will be off to college anyway and you can leave Georgia. Then we can be together.
Love,
Ava
