A Cliche Marriage Proposal
As he emerged from his laying position, his wife followed. The warm wind softly blew, causing beads of sweat to appear on his forehead. He drew his large hand casually across his brow. Small fingers intertwined with his large ones, as his wife softly slipped her hand into his. A small smile crept onto his face as he recognized the familiar touch of his girl. “Querida….” She smiled, loving the nickname he gave her. The wind softly blew her blonde locks away from her face. The ocean water dancing under the sun’s rays. It is all so beautiful, like a scene from a movie.
His hands snaked around her waist, and drew her into his broad chest. Her arms wrapped around his torso, squeezing tightly. “I love you so much.” he whispered. “I love you to.” He looked down to her and smiled “Say it to the world.” He said. “Seriously? Is this like twilight?” She smirked. Turning away from him, she yelled out over the cliff “I LOVE YOU BLAKE JOHNSON!!” she turned to him with a smug smile on her face. “Now it’s your turn.” He brought his hand up to her face and cupped her cheek. He leaned down and softly pecked her lips. “I love you Paige Knight.” He softly whispered. Confusion flashed through her eyes as she looked up at her beloved. “Why didn’t you yell it to the world?” He softly smiled “Because you are my world.”
A small smile tugged on her lips as she blushed. She bowed her head to hide her blush. He tilted her head up to have his eyes meet hers. “Don’t try to hide from me.” He got on his knee. Taking out a ring, he said “Paige Ashley Knight, I love you with every single fiber in my body, I love your laugh, your smile, your sarcastic comments, the way you bite your lip when you’re nervous, the way you blush every time I compliment you. I love the way you react when I touch you, I love how you look up to me in love, I love how you broke through the walls I built up, and taught me to love again. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want you to mother my children, and I want to grow old together, and die in each others arms, knowing that the last thought in my mind will be about you. I want the last thing I see is your beautiful face looking down on me. So I ask this, with no regret and no remorse, Paige Ashley Knight. Will you marry me?”
Tears streamed down her cheeks while she frantically nodded her head. “YES! Of course I’ll marry you.”
