The Vampire Detective-Part 5
“OK seriously are you insane!?” Porcelain asked/shouted.
“No. I just want to help the girl. And solve Osiris’ disappearance.
“I have a name” Melody called from the back seat.
“Seriously Revenant you do realise the Consul Regent is going to skin you this time?” Porcelain said.
“You say he’ll do that ever time” Revenant joked.
“Wait a minute! We just went through several states in just over an hour, how?” Melody asked.
“Pixie Dust” Revenant replied.
“Seriously Revenant.”
“I'm not lying we used Pixie dust. The Pixies were a warrior fairy tribe that people harvested for the ability they had to travel great distances almost instantly.”
“How did they harvest them?”
“Captured, killed and crushed them into a powder.”
“That’s horrible!”
“You think that’s bad. Wait until I tell you what Pinocchio really did to try and become real and how they caught him.”
Meanwhile in Tokyo, Japan something else was taking place.
“Yes I understand master Shikyo” gasped the voice at the other end. An American accent filled the line, loud and clear.
“I told you not to call me that on an insecure line you fool!” Shikyo hissed. His voice was Japanese accented and was little more than a whispering rasp, but it sent The American stumbling back as it was projected at ten times the volume it should have been.
“Yes master but…”
“Silence! Is everything in order? Have you dealt with the Vampire Detective?”
“No sir.
“What!? Why have you not killed Revenant!?”
“He escaped the firebird sir.”
“Can you do nothing right!”
“Master he escaped the firebird! I couldn’t interfere unless I revealed myself and that would have jeopardised the whole reason for killing him! To keep our operation secret.”
“Who gives the orders here?”
“You sir.”
“Who runs this organisation?”
“You sir.”
“Who will kill you if you fail?”
“You sir.”
“SO PUT HIM OFF OUR TRAIL!! IF NESSESASRY SEND HIM TO JAPAN!!”
“Yes sir” with that the American hung up.
“Idiot.” Shikyo placed the highly secure phone back on his desk. “He even uses a Bluetooth headset.”
“Sir I have some concerns” said the man across the desk. He was most definitely one of the strangest men in the world. His left half of his body was albino, virtually completely white, while the right suffered from melanism. His suit reflected this in reverse, the left black and the right white, the pattern continued with his silk shirt and tie. His eyes glowed red brightly and shed light into Shikyo’ face in the dark room. He lay his hands on the desk, they were human, but ended in dog nails.
“Yes Cadejo” Shikyo said.
“The Vampire is too close to the secret we are after.”
“He knows nothing.”
“We cannot assume he will not enter the fray though. We must eliminate the Werewolves and the Korean sorcerers.”
“Cut our losses. Fine they have served their purpose. You and your men may eliminate them. They are only losing funds now that they have found what we are after. The Hooded Ones have begun the attacks in London, they will be eliminated as soon they capture the Deer-Woman. Now go and begin amassing your people Cadejo.”
