Crazy In Love
Valentine’s Day, just another boring day for Julie Wilbur. This was the consequence of last year’s Valentine’s Day dinner which ended up in complete chaos. On that day Julie was preparing a wonderful tasting dinner for a really handsome man she’d been dating for a few months already. Once everything was ready she waited for her date to show up. An hour passed and he still didn’t show up, but she didn’t worry because she thought maybe he got caught up with something….two hours went by, then three and he never showed up.
Heartbroken she ate all alone and had one too many drinks. Julie got so drunk that when she leaned in for another glass of wine she tipped over one of the luminous candles she had lit and burnt a red plastic cup. The cup fell over on the table and part of the burnt plastic dripped on to the floor. To make things even worse, the carpet caught on fire. Luckily Julie somehow managed to put the fire out.
Devastated she headed for her studio to look over some of her artwork she thought maybe would soothe her a bit. She loved to paint and make sculptures that represented how she felt. Her feelings were always her inspiration. So she decided to paint a portrait and grabbed an old paint brush, but she noticed that the bristles on it were too worn out to use. However, she did have some extra ones she had recently purchased, but she couldn’t remember where she had placed them. Julie looked for them all over the studio then she remembered she left them in the car.
Julie decided to go get them but just as she grabbed a hold of the door knob to open the door, someone knocked. She stood there for a bit then they knocked again and she proceeded to open the door. In silence she stared at Josh (her date) standing there. Josh was about to explain why he was so late when all of the sudden an extreme kind of rage hit Julie because he had showed up several hours late.
As a result of that she grabbed a hold of the first thing she saw; a black cellphone charger which was connected to the outlet right next to the door and then it happened…… she beat Josh so bad with that charger that the cord caused severe trauma to his once flawless face. Josh tried to defend himself and pushed her off of him, but made everything worse because she fell next to the empty wine bottle. Since Josh’s face was bleeding a lot he didn’t see when Julie grabbed the bottle. Taking advantage of the fact that she was off of him he dialed 911. When they answered his call he tried to explain what had happened and since he was distracted, Julie took the bottle and smashed it on his head. The crisis response person on the other line heard the glass breaking and sent the police.

A couple months back Julie decided to go to school to develop more of her artistic skills so she applied at the Art Institution in Seattle, Washington. When she got accepted she was ecstatic. Especially when a gentleman named Josh started to become close to her. Josh was one of her professors at the Institution. Since a relationship between student and teacher was not permitted Julie left the Institution.
The two of them started dating and it seemed that they were both developing really strong feelings for one another. Julie surely thought she had made the right choice choosing between Josh and the Institution. Until one day Josh had something serious to tell her, Josh was a married man and had been lying to Julie all along. When Julie heard that she became hysterical. To Julie’s surprise Josh said he would leave his wife for her.
As the time passed Josh became very mysterious with Julie and she started to become very concerned. One day she decided to follow him after work. To her surprise she discovered that he was with his wife having the time of his life. On the next day she called him and acted like nothing happened. She told him that she had something prepared for Valentine’s Day and to not bail on her, he tried to hesitate but she made her point clear that he better show up. She was going to see who he would choose to be with on that day.

When the police arrived they didn’t see either Julie or Josh. They started searching the house and came across a strange scene. Julie had tied Josh’s unresponsive body to a chair, and was painting a portrait of him while listening to “I Will Possess Your Heart” by Death Cab for Cutie. Julie saw the policemen and greeted them as if everything was ok. The police arrested her and she was later sent to a mental institution. This is why Julie Wilbur is having a boring Valentine ’s Day sitting in her white room, with padded walls, staring into nothing while singing the words to “I Will Possess Your Heart.”
