Untitled
It was like any other day in high school; extremely crowded. As I walked down the congested hall, nobody seemed to notice me. At all. Weird thing was, it wasn’t like I was just like everybody else. The only makeup I wore was eyeliner, even though most other girls at my school had lots of makeup smothered on their face. I had jet black hair, jet black jeans, basically everything I was wearing was black. People would call me the “emo kid” and a “freak” just because of the music I liked and what I would wear. Now it was like I had totally disappeared…. I don’t know. Come to think about it, I don’t remember waking up this morning. Weird. I walked over to my best friends, Timothy and Danny.
“Hey guys!” I exclaimed. They kept on talking. Now that I noticed it, they both looked pretty depressed.
“Guys, what’s wrong?” I worried. They still ignored me, as if I wasn’t even there.
“Cmon guys stop playing tricks with me, I’m not stupid.” I asserted. Why won’t they listen to me, or even look at me? Whatever. Danny nearly sobbed out the words in a quiet tone,
“Did you hear about what happened t-”
“Yes I did now please just shut up about it!” Timothy yelled, tears running down his face. What? Whats going on?? Danny exclaimed in a quick tone
“Timothy I-” but Timothy walked away. Right. Through. Me. No.. I. I can’t be dead. There’s no way… But then it came back to me. Yesterday, when I was walking across the crosswalk after school…. that truck; it hit me. After that I totally blacked out and now, now the last memory I have after that is walking through these halls. The bell for 1st period rang, and everybody went to class. Nobody was around. Just me. Or so I thought.
“Hey, Hayley.” A woman exclaimed right behind me. I turned around to see a woman who I had never seen before in my life.
“Who are you? How do you know my name? How can you see me?” I questioned.
“I’m death itself. Nice to meet you, Hayley.” Death reached out its hand for a handshake, and smirked when I just stood there, frozen.
“No handshake I guess. Hmm.” Death put its hand to its side.
“Well, If you're wondering why I’m here, it’s because you're dead as you already know and i’ve come to send your soul to a better place.”
“But I don’t want to go, my life can’t be over just yet! There’s so many things I haven’t done!”
“Hayley, it IS your time to go. Trust me, it’s just fate. Now cmon, I have to do my job and send you to a better place.”
“But I don’t want to go. I want to stay here and watch over my friends.”
“But what happens when your friends are gone? You’ll have nobody left. It’s better off if you come with me.”
“I guess your right. Fine.” Right as I was about to go with Death, it disappeared, and I woke up.

This short story was inspiried by the show Supernatural, which is my favorite TV show. I hope people learn from this story that life is short and that you should live life like there's no tomorrow, because you never know when there's actually going to be no tomorrow.
