Eaten Alive
Oblivion is slowly setting into my mind, every footstep feels like a backspace button on my memories, and I am walking in the forest mindlessly. Incoherent voices and figures are everywhere. I'm half asleep, I could blame my madness on hypnagogic hallucinations... maybe then I won't be thrown into a mental hospital and medicated.
Branches turn into tentacles of destruction, owls turn into messengers, and my hands are pulsating monstrosities. Fatigue sets into this dream-like night, the cold hardly bothers me and I turn into a lifeless corpse and collapse. I must have walked miles and miles into this place. I look up at the blue and purple sky to see the full moon. It's a pretty sight and I feel like I am in the Van Gogh painting. A faint smile comes over my face and the man in the trees wears a smile too. His smile can only be seen by me. Maybe he isn't so bad. I get up and walk towards him.
It's time, he whispers.
